The MSc program in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in Production Engineering, offered by the Faculty of Engineering, is designed for individuals holding a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. This program spans four semesters and leads to the qualification of Mechanical Engineer, with a specialization in Production Engineering.
The curriculum is rigorous and comprehensive, aiming to equip students with advanced skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering. It encompasses various key areas, including applied statistics, applied dynamics, investment and financial decisions, organizational techniques and project management, engineering systems and modeling, applied mathematics, applied thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, materials science, applied quality and environmental management, electrical measurement and signal processing, machine and product design, and industrial internship in the first year.
The second year delves deeper into the specialization with courses in design of manufacturing devices, design of material handling and storage systems, production automation, diagnostics and condition monitoring, simulation of manufacturing systems and processes, production process optimization, maintenance and repairing technologies, and culminates in the completion of a thesis.
The program maintains a balanced blend of theoretical instruction through lectures and seminars (46%) and hands-on practical experience (54%), providing students with a well-rounded education. The practical component includes a 4-week field practice, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will have gained the expertise necessary to work in a variety of roles within the field of mechanical engineering, with a specialized focus on production engineering. They will be well-equipped to undertake tasks related to modeling, design, operation, control, and maintenance of mechanical systems and processes. Additionally, they will possess the skills to develop new technologies and processes, with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. This knowledge will be invaluable in both national and international engineering projects, making graduates highly sought after in the industry.
