This program offers a teacher certificate (Post Graduate Certificate in Education, PGCE) in an academic period as short as two semesters. Our ideal candidates already have a graduate/master’s degree in the field of Teaching Russian Language and Culture, and possess proficiency in English enabling them to actively participate in our program. Building on the high-quality, field-specific (disciplinary) knowledge acquired prior to joining our program, we place emphasis on enhancing the educational applicability of these existing competencies. Both in theory and practice, our aim is to equip our candidates with general pedagogical and psychological principles, as well as field-specific methodological attitudes, knowledge, and skills necessary for the realities of schools worldwide. The first semester of our program emphasizes theory, while during the second semester, teacher candidates have the opportunity to engage in teaching activities in related bachelor programs offered at our university.
In terms of career opportunities, while the teaching profession is encountering challenges globally, it remains a widely recognized and adaptable career path. Our graduates are well-prepared to embark on teaching roles in various settings within both public and private education in their areas of expertise. Additionally, at the “Education and Society” Doctoral School of Education Sciences at the University of Pecs, graduates can pursue further studies in a Ph.D. program, focusing on subfields such as Theories of Education and Subject-Specific Methodologies, Philosophy and History of Education, or the Sociology of Education.
