This program offers a teacher certificate (Post Graduate Certificate in Education, PGCE) within an academic period as short as two semesters. Our ideal candidates should already possess a graduate or master’s degree in the field of Ethics and Moral Philosophy and have a command of English, enabling them to fully engage in our program. Building upon the high-quality, field-specific (disciplinary) knowledge acquired prior to joining our program, we focus on enhancing the educational applicability of these existing competencies. Both in theory and practice, our goal is to equip our candidates with general pedagogical and psychological principles, as well as field-specific methodological attitudes, knowledge, and skills necessary for the realities of schools worldwide. The first semester of our program emphasizes theory, while during the second semester, teacher candidates have the opportunity to engage in teaching activities within related bachelor programs offered at our university in English.
Career opportunities in the field of teaching, while facing global challenges, still offer a widely recognized and flexible career path. Our graduates are well-prepared to begin teaching in various scenarios within public and private education in their areas of expertise. Furthermore, at the “Education and Society” Doctoral School of Education Sciences at the University of Pecs, graduates can pursue further studies in a Ph.D. program, with a focus on subfields such as Theories of Education and Subject-Specific Methodologies, Philosophy and History of Education, or the Sociology of Education.
