This program offers a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) within a condensed academic period of just two semesters. Ideal candidates already hold a graduate or master’s degree in the field of Educational Sciences and possess proficiency in English, enabling them to actively participate in the program. Leveraging the high-quality, field-specific knowledge acquired prior to joining our program, we concentrate on enhancing the educational application of these existing competencies. Our objective, both in theory and practice, is to equip candidates with general pedagogical and psychological principles, alongside field-specific methodological attitudes, knowledge, and skills essential for the realities of schools worldwide.
During the initial semester, our program places a theoretical emphasis. In the subsequent semester, teacher candidates engage in practical teaching activities within related bachelor programs offered at our university in English.
Career opportunities abound for our graduates. While the teaching profession does face global challenges, it remains a widely recognized and adaptable career path. Our alumni can embark on teaching roles in various settings, encompassing both public and private education within their areas of expertise. Furthermore, at the “Education and Society” Doctoral School of Education Sciences at the University of Pecs, graduates have the opportunity to advance their studies in a Ph.D. program, focusing on subfields such as Theories of Education and Subject-Specific Methodologies, Philosophy and History of Education, or the Sociology of Education.
