In addition to the core curriculum, students have the opportunity to tailor their studies through elective modules, selecting either a linguistic or a literature culture focus based on their primary areas of interest. The linguistic module encompasses courses in sociolinguistics, contrastive linguistics, historical and contemporary language norms and conventions, as well as the diverse varieties of the German language. On the other hand, the Literature/Culture module delves into topics such as literary schools, trends, and genres within German literature, contemporary German literary works, media theory, intercultural media, and the interpretation of literature through an intercultural and intertextual lens, among others.
