The Master of Science program in Business Informatics, offered by the Faculty of Informatics, is situated within the academic discipline of Computer Science and Information Technology. Graduates attain the qualification of Business Informatics Engineer, and program intake commences in both September and February. Proficiency in English is a requirement, demonstrated through TOEFL scores of 547, IELTS scores of 6.0, and successful completion of an oral examination.
Academic eligibility stipulates a relevant bachelor’s degree in information technology. The program spans four semesters, accumulating 120 ECTS credits. Tuition is set at 7,500 USD per year, with supplementary fees including a 150 USD application fee and a 350 USD entrance procedure fee.
The Business Informatics, MSc program is crafted with the objective of producing professionals equipped to comprehend intricate economic processes, identify issues, and propose alternative solutions. Graduates are proficient in recognizing requirements pertaining to information systems that bolster value-generating processes. They are capable of developing and overseeing applications, conducting and coordinating R&D tasks, and pursuing further studies in PhD programs.
The program is balanced between lectures and seminars (40%) and practical training (60%). Key subjects in the first year encompass Management Science, Developing Data Handling Programs, Fundamentals of Software Development and Software Testing, Foundations of Computer Security, Financial Mathematics, Introduction to SAP (at both end-user and developer levels), Advanced Spreadsheets, Big Data Analytics, Data Visualization, Computer Statistics, Corporate Finance, Strategic Management, and International Business. The second year covers Advanced Data Security, Digital Marketing, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Management of Value Creating Processes, and culminates in a thesis.
Throughout their studies, students have the opportunity to attain the ‘SAS Business Modeler Badge’ certification from the leading provider of business analytics software. They can also obtain various industrial certificates through the Certiport test center at the Faculty of Informatics.
Practical training involves a 6-week internship, conducted either at the university on research projects or at a multinational or local company. This immersive experience enhances students’ real-world application of knowledge and skills.
